After Week 5's games the only question remaining is "Who will be the 1 seed?" And that question WILL be answered Friday, March 26th at 8:30p with the Mountaineers and Saints getting it on! As is our custom - thank you to all that came out in support of your teams in week 5!
As always, we have posted a gallery of photos from the five games.
Friday opened with the Mountaineers taking on the Vikings. The Mountaineers came out strong, and never looked back. The Vikings couldn't get their offense going, and as a result were held scoreless. Losing a game that had serious play off implications, 38 - 0.
The rest of the weekends games were games that had no play off implications. Because it was the second time each of the teams met - the games did not count toward the play off race.
Friday's second game, saw the Panthers visiting the Steelers. The Panthers jumped out early and caught the Steelers off guard - scoring on their first play from scrimmage. The Steelers scored on their first possession as well. The teams battled back and forth in a hard hitting game. That wasn't decided until the 4th quarter. In the end the Steelers found themselves with the ball and the lead, and proceeded to grind out the clock - and then take a few knees and the win by a score of 27-22.
Saturday night started with Eagles taking on the Saints. Despite the Eagles winless record, they gave the Saints a real battle in the first half. By capitalizing on turn overs the athletic Saints once again proved too much for their opponents. The second half was all Saints, defeating the Eagles 40-12.
Rounding out the weekend action was the Mountaineers taking on the Buccaneer. The game was unfortunately never close. The Mountaineers were just too much for the Bucs. The only relief for the Bucs came in the second half with the Mountaineers allowed every player to run the ball at some point. Finishing with a score of 43-6.
